Homework
Category: Naolito Originals · Year: 2025
'Homework' is a 3D-animated short film based on Nacho Arjona's original idea. It tells the funny and emotive story of a pencil, an eraser, and other beloved school supplies who live in a regular school. Together, they explore the school building and embark on amazing adventures. While they all want to have fun, they're very different, so they'll need to learn how to work together.
This marks Nacho Arjona's directorial debut, produced by Naolito Animation Studios. The project originated as a successful Kickstarter campaign in January 2021, funded entirely through backer support.
The team invested meticulous effort into animation quality, visual style, and an innovative musical score created using stationery elements as instruments to evoke nostalgic school memories.
The film has achieved remarkable festival success with over 100 selections and 20+ awards from prestigious venues including:
- Taichung Animation Festival (Taiwan)
- Festival de Cine de Málaga (Spain)
- Giffoni Film Festival (Italy)
- Warsaw Film Festival
Notably, 'Homework' was preselected as a candidate for the Goya Awards 2025 for Best Animated Short Film.
